Health Services


The Health Services Department is responsible for conducting vision, hearing, and other health screenings that are mandated by law. They administer medications and provide specialized medical services according to physicians’ orders. The Health Services Department monitors the general health and wellness of students and staff. They coordinate Medi-Cal billing and services as appropriate.

 

Our mission statement!

The purpose of the Health Service Department is to provide nursing/health services to students, assist in planning school health programs, and serve as a resource in preparing health education curricula according to District established standards.

 

One school nurse work under the direct supervision of the Director of Educational services and site administrators. They provide direct nursing services, referrals, and consultations as well as supervise five site based health assistants.

 

The seven health assistants provide basic first aid care and in some cases specialized care to District elementary and middle school students. They maintain health records and work to keep the District in compliance with State mandated requirements in all health related area.
