Accelerated Reader The Accelerated Reader Program is a reading program designed for students in grades 1st through 12th. Accelerated Reader is easy for students to use. The student selects and reads a book from the quiz list. Then, sits down at the computer and takes an Accelerated Reader Reading Practice Quiz. The computerized test has 5, 10, or 20 multiple-choice comprehension questions. Accelerated Reader computes the student’s score, adds the results in the Accelerated Reader database, and generates the TOPS Report, which provides the student with immediate information on his or her performance. The feedback is in the form of reading points. The program awards points on length and difficulty of the book and on student comprehension. Teachers use these reading points to measure the student’s performance and rate their progress. Quality, quantity, and reading level are the basis for the Accelerated Reader Program.
The Accelerated Reader Quiz List is a searchable list. You can search by author name, title, and also by reading level. |
