Music Education

Students at Marengo Ranch are fortunate to be in a school that supports music education.   Each child in 1st through 5th grade receives a 35-minute music lesson once a week.  Many people think of music class as a lot of singing.  The students at Marengo learn more than just songs.  They learn how to sing properly, read and write music, listen to music, the form of music, musical patterns, to create music, move and feel beats and rhythm patterns, history of music and how music is different around the world.

Studies have shown that music instruction develops math skills, spatial-temporal skills, and life skills.  Music helps children connect to their own creative potential and to the creative out put of others. 

Marengo Ranch band and choir are amazing.  The students work hard to prepare music for both a Winter Concert and a Spring Concert.  Band is offered to 4^th and 5th grade students, and choir is offered to 3^rd, 4th, and 5th grade students.  I hope to see your child there!
