Project Heart Head Hands Designed to help instill good character traits in students by focusing on three key areas: Heart — Fostering development of character traits using the Eight Great Traits — caring, honesty, responsibility, integrity, respect for others, citizenship, planning and decision making and problem solving.
Head — Building social-emotional skills (e.g. effective communication, conflict resolution).
Hands —Engaging students in service learning, meaning performing acts of service for their communities (e.g. recycling, donations). |

Galt Joint Union Elementary School District Honor Roll Guidelines
Purpose: Recognize above average core content performance based upon: ♦ Work quality ♦ Growth toward standards ♦ Effort
Recognition Levels: Recognition standards have been established to standardize the ratings across the district using three honor roll recognition levels and one progress award. ♦ Special Education students are eligible for honor roll based upon progress toward IEP goals. ♦ Students not in Special Education must be working at grade level to receive honor roll.
I. Honor Roll Core content areas of reading, writing, mathematics, science, and history/social science contribute to honor roll awards. ● Proficient or above in all areas ● Effort Average of 80% or higher ● No N’s in effort and Citizenship
II. Principal’s Honor Roll Core content areas of reading, writing, mathematics, science, and history/social science contribute to honor roll awards. ● Advanced in 2 core areas* ● Proficient or above in all other areas ● Effort Average of 85% or higher ● No N’s in Citizenship or Effort
III. Superintendent’s Honor Roll Core content areas of reading writing, mathematics, science and history/social science contribute to honor roll awards. ● Advanced in all core areas* ● Proficient or above in all other areas ● Effort Average of 90% or above ● No N’s in Citizenship or Effort
Outstanding Progress Awards For Students on Modified Curriculum ● Proficient or above in any 2 areas ● Effort Average of 80% or above ● No N’s in Citizenship or Effort
