First 5 School Readiness / Preschool
With the receipt of a multi-year grant from First 5 Sacramento and additional partnerships, the Galt Joint Union Elementary School District (GJUESD) has expanded its Pre-Kindergarten Program.
The program includes a variety of School Readiness services to all families who have children ages 0-5 in the Galt community regardless of income. All School Readiness services are free with the exception of full-day preschool.

The Galt Joint Union Elementary School District's State Preschool Program is administered through the Early Education and Support Division of the California Department of Education. The program serves eligible 3-year old and 4-year old children. The program offers both full day and part day services that provide a core class curriculum that is developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate for the children served.
The State Preschool Program also provides meals and snacks to children, parent education, referrals to health and social services for families, and staff development opportunities to employees.
