The District offers a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program that serves both English and Spanish speaking students. The goal of a DLI program is for all students to become bilingual in English and Spanish.
GJUESD continues to expand the DLI program in the 2023-24 school year by offering it at Preschool/Transitional Kindergarten (TK) at the Fairsite School campus and Kindergarten at Valley Oaks School. The DLI program will continue to increase by one grade level each year. For example, in 2024-25, the program will expand to First Grade at Valley Oaks.
PROGRAMA DE INMERSIÓN DE DOBLE IDIOMA
El distrito ofrece un programa de inmersión de doble idioma (DLI) que atiende a estudiantes de habla inglesa y española. El objetivo de un programa DLI es que los estudiantes se vuelvan bilingües en inglés y español.
GJUESD continúa expandiendo el programa DLI en el año escolar 2023-24 al ofrecerlo en preescolar/kínder de transición (TK) en la escuela Fairsite y en Kinder en la escuela Valley Oaks. El programa DLI continuará aumentando en un nivel de grado cada año. Por ejemplo, en 2024-25, el programa se expandirá a primer grado en Valley Oaks.

At Galt Joint Union Elementary School District, we believe that all languages and cultures are important. We will provide an inclusive educational opportunity that values and teaches multiculturalism, develops bilingualism/biliteracy, and provides a high quality academic program for our students to strengthen their self perception and identity, and be successful in a global society.
